22nd February, A Little bit of ' Less is More '

Good evening, I have been doing some card making ' Less is More ' I have gathered over the years lots of lovely stamps that have not seen the light of day for many years, plus purchasing a few more from the lovely Lavinia stamp range. Here is some of my work, using beautiful white linen card stock.

The pretty toadstools are a new stamp from the Lavinia range and the owl is also a new purchase from Creative Expressions.  Both have been coloured with Copics and some Glossy Accents added for the owl's eyes and dew drops on and around the toadstools.

An old Penny Black favourite, I think it is called 'Squeeze till I Squeak ' Not too sure.  I have it in two sizes, one a smaller version in a clear stamp and the other a larger wood mounted one.

The lovely seed pods are again a new stamp released from Lavinia stamps. Both have been coloured by using Copics.

It is always good to do something that bit different. I am waiting for delivery of some Yupo paper for my next lot of work which will get use of my alcohol inks that have been languishing away in a drawer for some time.

Thank you for taking  a peep, take care, xxx

13 th February, 2018 A Little More Shabby Chic.

Hi, you have probably guessed by now that my most favourite thing to do is Shabby Chic style as I love lace and pretty flowers.  Now, this is one of the most annoying things. Us crafters that take lots of time thinking about what colours to use, embellishments, all the little details that make our own work that bit special,  I will be the first to say that I look at other peoples work for inspiration, colours, how they have used a die and so on. And what a complement that someone likes your work so much that they copy it, honestly not a problem for me, but when they do it for monetary gain, that's a bit naughty as well as dishonest. I guess we cannot stop it, but trust that their conscience takes a bit of a knocking and they don't do it again !

Here is a bit more of my work, all my own I might add, hope you like it.  A LOTV download, so very cute. Added all the other bits and bobs to make a pretty topper, moving or new house.

I used a download for this pretty little girl, added raspberry pink ribbon and butterflies to help make it 'pop' out that bit more. A touch of white paste on the roses and some ivory dried gypsophilia , can never spell that word correctly.  Thank you for taking a peep, have a lovely day xx

1st Frbruary, 2018. Lots of Shabby Chic Style

Hello, I have been doing quite a lot of lovely lace and Shabby Chic style work. Here are a few of my projects, hope you like them
.

I used part of a set of Tonic Studio dies for this work. I added a filigree bow with a super sparkly gem in the centre, plus some hand made pink Foamiran flowers and buds.

Again a large Tonic Studio die with lovely heavy lace and hand made rolled paper roses.
I added a touch of white paste to the card as well as the roses.

Foamiran flowers again on this one with lots of really nice die cut foliage.

Thanks for taking a peep, always appreciated, xx

20th January, 2018. Loving Foamiran Flowers.

Hi Good Morning, I have been playing with Foamiran over the last few days, trying different ways to colour them, I really do prefer to buy the white sheets or pale cream as they can be coloured on the edges so much more easily. There are lots of information out there on You Tube how to colour and shape the flowers. These are a couple of card toppers that I have made using Foamiran.

A Lili of the Valley stamp, coloured with distress inks

A down loaded image from Crafters Companions. I used a rolled rose die to make the Foamiran flowers.  Thank you for taking a little look at my work. Hope you are all having a lovely day xx

12th January, 2018 So in love with Lace.

Hi, Happy New Year to all, yes I know it's now the 12th January, but I have been so very busy and I hope that each and everyone of you are having a wonderful New Year.  At the moment I am addicted to lace. I bought some stunning applique lace to use for my crafting, but end up looking at it and have not got the heart to cut into it. However , I have managed to do a few cards so far. hope you like the results.

This applique lace had lovely silver thread and sequins sewn into it.

This applique lace was more ivory coloured and I added a few ivory pearls.

Thank you for taking a look at my work, xxx

30th December, 2017 Romantic Wedding.

Hi , the days are going so fast that I even got my last posting date wrong. So here we are with the year almost gone and into 2018. I guess a lot of wedding preparations are on the way for Spring weddings.  I would like to show you a pretty wedding card topper that I have made using a digital download from forever ago, hidden away in my computer. She is adorable and so romantic.

I used Spellbinders dies , white roses and dried gypsophilia. I wanted to match the foliage up with something that was light and gentle in colour and had nothing in my stash. So the sprays came out from Lindy's, two sprayed on top of each other to get the desired colour. A light beige pearl gold.

A closer peep of the roses and foliage

Thank you for looking at my work.  I wish you all a very happy and wonderful New Year for 2108.

21st November, 2017, Romance and Lace

Hello everyone.  At last I have done and finished with making Christmas cards, as much as I have enjoyed making them there comes a time when you want to concentrate onto something else. Valentines Day is just around the corner and I feel sure that there are lots of lovely couples making wedding plans for next year, so that inspired me to do some romantic style cards, This is what I have come up with and hope you like them.

The first one is a Wedding card topper done with a LOTV stamp and coloured using Copics.

The lace applique was from my stash, bought some time ago from an oddment of bridal material.

The lace set me off on making the heart shaped topper. I made the Foamiran flowers and buds. Using the lace applique in the first one set me off searching for other pieces of lace. This one came from a milliners shop . I must admit I sat and looked at it for some time before cutting into it.

Isn't it beautiful ?  The applique piece has little beads, slightly larger pearl beads and edged in silver thread.   Thank you for taking a peep at my work, always appreciated. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year xx
