14th September, 2020, so in Love making Paper Flowers

Hi Good morning.  I hope that all are fit and well and of course keeping safe.  I find it such a haven for my thoughts to sit and make my crafting items. At the moment I am very much into making paper flowers using water colouring card. Here are a couple of my recent efforts.

I used Ranger Distress Crayons and a wet wipe to colour the petals of the flowers

A closer peep. for these flowers I used two different colours from Pan Pastels, a turquoise and a lilac colour.  Again using a wet baby wipe to the petals edges. Hope you like them

Thank you for stopping by, take care, love and best wishes from here in the UK.

27th June 2020, Glittery Butterflies.

Hello everyone, I hope that you are all keeping safe and well.  We have just endured a couple of our hottest days this year and I have kept well in the shade.  Followed by an amazing thunder storm which to some extent cleared the air just a little.  Whilst being in lock-down I have been quite busy doing a junk journal, loving doing it.

Caught up on doing some butterflies , hope you like them....

..

Glass glitter on the wings, Stickles in silver and turquoise.

Pretty AB crystal flat backs down the bodies and a few on the wings.

Take care, keep safe  xx

7th June 2020. A baby car, Lilli of the Valley.

Hi !   don't you just love all the LOTV stamps , sold digital now. I have so many rubber ones in my stash it is embarrassing. I did live not far from their outlet shop in Leeds UK, plus they used to go to so many craft shows, alas no more . This one is a digital download , didn't have this one !  but so needed it.  I colour it using Copics. Hope you like it...

The lace edge is a Tim Holtz die, comes in a set of four and the daisy die is a very old one , a Magnolia Doohickey one.

The inside done to compliment.

Thanks for taking a peep at my work, keep safe, xx

23rd May, 2020. With Love, Shabby Chic.

Hi, Today I have a pretty Shabby Chic style card topper to show you, peaches and cream with a touch of lime to make it ' pop '

The flowers are Foamiran, which I tinted using pastels to get the right shade desired.
The doily square is from Tattered Lace dies, such a useful die that I have used such a lot.

A peep at the flowers.
The ' With Love ' done in gold so could be used for a Golden Wedding.

Keep busy, keep safe xxxxxxxxx

13th May 2020 , Decorated Glassine Bags.

Hello, As part of doing my journal, trying to do a page a day...not happening  I might add, far too many  distractions as in people needing feeding !  Anyway I did make some decorated Glassine bags, some for sale and some for the journal.  The flowers were hand made using lots of different materials, silk, chiffon and satin, pretty much anything I could lay my hands on that would melt by using the burning method.

I ran the bags through my Sizzix between  an embossing folder to obtain the patterns on each bag.

I loved the way that they turned out and can see so many different ways to decorate and so many uses. Not only for journaling pockets but as little gift bags or to hold that special tag style invitation.

Hope you are all keeping safe, take care xxxxxxxxx

1st May, 2020

Hi everyone...what a strange time this is, so surreal . Here I am safe and sound in my own home , isolating like most and doing my craft work whilst all the world is in such turmoil. The birds are singing outside and everything seems so quiet and peaceful, which of course it is not. I have started a junk journal , half way through it, doing one , perhaps two pages at a time. Really enjoying it. Of course as soon as it is done I will show it off.

In the mean time, I have finished a pretty new baby card for my first great grandchild which we know is going to be a girl. All girls in our family, children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. Only the tortoise is male., and of course the husbands !

Love my Lili of the Valley stamps, have so many of them and always come in handy, love them all.

Once again used my favourite Copics to colour with.

To everyone, keep busy, stay at home and keep safe x

12th April 2020, A Pocket Full of Pretties.

Good morning, Happy Easter, and hope that you are having a safe and busy day.  I am so thankful for my crafting hobby and my stash of crafting things. I have been inspired to make some junk journal things for my new journals that I recently made...so here they are....

I used a die to make the pocket/envelope . I really enjoyed making all the different things to go inside.  I have found stuff to use that I never thought of using, inks, sprays, lace and ribbons.

Separated and spread out so they can be seen that bit better.

I hope that I have inspired you to do some.
From here in the UK I wish each and everyone to be safe,                                                                 hugs and much love xx

28th March 2020 , Using Dur a Lar acrylic sheets

Hello , I hope that all us crafting folk are keeping busy, learning new skills and trying our best to keep content with our lot.  Terrible times for each of us. we would never have thought that the world would come to this. If we each do as directed we will get through this...

I bought and had delivered before all of this terrible virus , some Dur a Lar acrylic sheets. I had seen them being used and thought it was pretty much up my street to play with. This is my first attempt using acrylic paints.

The strange thing about this 'plastic ' sheet is that you can also water colour on it, stamp and heat emboss, which is what I did with the flower.

I placed it onto white card and used sticky tape strips behind.

I used quite a few Posca pens for the other detailed colouring in.

Thank you for having a look at my work. Please all keep safe and well.

Hugs and much love to all xx

18th March, 2020 A Mo Manning Purchased Image

Hello, today I would like to show you some work done using a Mo Manning purchased image from The Hobby House.  I do have quite a few Mo Manning stamps which I love to use but this was purchased long time ago so decided to use it...such a cutie.

The flowers were made using Foamiran, , my preference being white so that I can colour the foam to my own choosing.

I added some dried gypsophilia among the flowers.

Hope you like it.  Under the circumstances, please keep safe and well xx

12th March 2020. A Steam Punk Journal.

Good evening.  I mentioned earlier that I had done another hand made journal, which has just been completed. I did this one in a Steam Punk style.  I must give the credit to ' Such A Pretty Mess ' for this one as I have copied from her tutorial how to make the large gem in the middle. She herself does admit that she got the method and  idea from somebody else, so don't feel so bad !

Loved making it, something really different . Most of the stuff I had in my craft boxes plus some of that air drying clay to make some of the embellishments which were covered in gold and bronze gilding polish.

Hope you like it....just got to fill it now....

11th march 2020. Time for some Shabby Chic again

Hi, I have been busy making journals, one which I have put on my blog, the other not quite finished, but have loved making them. Always like to try different  things. Miss my card crafting so I have some of my latest work to show you...here goes....

The image is from my stash, Pion Design, had for ages and recently found.
The large flowers are made from fabric petals, layered and glued , stamens added.

I wanted a gold, but not gold colour for the leaves, more bronze, so I used different sprays from Lindy's Stamp Gang to get the colour I wanted to go with the different pinks.

A closer peep at the flowers and foliage.

Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day xx

Friday, 28 February 2020

28th February, 2020. hand made Shabby Chic Journal.

Good afternoon. This is my first attempt at making a Shabby Chic journal. Seen lots done but was never quite sure how to start. Brilliant this YouTube thing !  I decided, just in case I made a mess, not to use anything expensive. The book I took apart was a very old one, dropping to bits anyway, and for the pages I used a inexpensive slightly thick sketch book from the Book Store, £2 for 30 pages, A4 size.  Here it is....

Everything that I used was from my stash. I wish I had used a slightly thicker cotton string to put the papers in and lined the inside with a pink material, so not showing you the inside !

Almost got carried away and wanted to decorate the back with flowers and remembered it need to lay flat whilst in use.

Just need to fill it now......

Hope you like my first attempt. Just watched an amazing tutorial from ' Such a Pretty Mess ' it was for a Steam Punk box, can see another journal coming on !

Bye for now, take care and have a lovely weekend xx

Good evening, thank you for stopping by to have a look at my work, always appreciated.  I have done some Shabby Chic work, using a lovely image from Pion Design paper.

The blue die cut background is from Tattered Lace and the flowers were made
using the peony die, from Magnolia Doohickey, had for years.

I added lots of dried ivory gypsopholia

lots and lots of die cut coloured foliage.

Hope you like it, take care xxx

16th February, 2020, Pion Design

Hi , I have been searching through all my lovely papers and card stock and came across some Pion Design stuff tucked behind in a drawer....just had to use it.  So here is my pretty shabby chic style card topper using their papers.  Did greens not a usual colour for me but I think it worked well with the touches of pink.

I hand dyed the seam binding ribbon to get the right pale green that I wanted.

Loving the die cut flower spray bought a while ago and hardly used, can see lots of things to use it for.

Thank for taking a peep, hugs xxx

29th Janaury, 2020. A Little Bit More

Hi !  Where has January gone ? I have spent the last three weeks lazing around doing as little as possible due to this terrible cold/virus that really took a hold of myself and my hubby. Starting to feel better now, cough almost gone and at last sleeping through the night.

I did some more work with the Distress Oxide sprays before taking ill, so here is the card that I made.

I did just a little white paste stencilling.

Loving the little lady bird that I found in my stash.

I hand dyed the seam binding ribbon so as to get the right shade.

Thanks for taking a peep, take care xx

7th January 2020, Ranger Oxide Sprays !

Hi , Good evening.  At last had a day to myself to play with my Christmas present. A lovely set of Ranger Distress  Oxide sprays. Loving them. I have had quite  few , lets call them mistakes, and now getting the hang of them. So many things that you can do with them.  Love you Tim Holtz !  What would I do with out you ?

So here is my very first venture into Oxide sprays, plus I used them to paint with , not seen you do that as yet Tim !

I sprayed a tiny bit on my tile, used a wet brush and painted and shaded, mixed, loved it !

I used Tim Holtz Wild Flowers die set  and his Funky Foliage set.

A closet peep !

Hope that you all had a brilliant New Year Celebration , bye for now xx
