27th December,2018, So Pretty & So Easy to Make.

Hi, Hope that you have had a lovely Christmas. I have a simple easy peasy card to show you, stamped onto lovely white linen card.  I used a very old Hero's Art stamp set of three roses and  coloured them with Copics.

The simple sentiment of ' For You ' makes it ideal for any occasion.

Hope you like it, thank you for stopping by.  My best wishes to all for 2019 xx

18th December, 2018. Just so in love with this card.

Hi, I am so getting the hang of making these filigree cards and enjoy making them. As before the secret is in the thickness of the card used, 220 gsm works for me, thicker and it just will not go through my Sizzix, the folded part for the hinge.

I used  Spellbinder dies for this one and some really nice ivory pearl paper to make the flowers. To get the right colour pink I used a pink Copic pen on the petals before a light spritzing with water and then scrunching them up.

Love those flowers.

If feeling adventurous , have a go, once one is done and you have mastered the technique then it is pretty easy to do.

Have a lovely day, xx

16th DEcember 2018. a Hinged Fold Filigree Card.

Hi everyone.  today I would like to share with you my first attempt at a ' hinged filigree ' card. Ok, so I checked on you tube how to make one. Lots of good instructions, but no what thickness of card to do it with. Tried with 250 gsm....no...…!!!  So obviously thicker card was a no no. Used 220 gsm and just about managed it. Tricky ? yes !  On the one inch  fold score line for the filigree card , where you are going to attach front to the  back, after running it through your machine, if it does not cut through the die, add a shim just along that one inch fold and it should work. I wish some one had told me so that there would not have been oodles of screwed up card !

So here is my final finished go.....elegant, clean and I really like it !

I used a Spellbinder die ' Timeless Rectangles '

The flowers were made from cream pearl paper, die cut , scrunched up and shaped.

Should you decide to make one, try it out on some card that you no longer like using then if not happy with the result you won't feel too bad !

Take care, hugs xxx

9th December 2018 A Doily layered card

Hello, Today I have a pretty pale lemon and blue layered die cut doily card. I have just had  about my fill of making Christmas cards so it is lovely to start onto something different.

The die doily die was one I had seen used by others and after much researching, I had to have it !  I found that it was a company in Poland. Just love this die !

The flowers are Foamiran, antique white with a touch of blue Gelatos to change the colour just that little bit. My usual dried gypsophilia to add to the romantic look.

Thanks for stopping by,  bye for now  xx

3rd December, Pink and Cute Birthday Card.

Hi, Good afternoon, decided to do a simple pretty birthday card. I used a Mama Elephant stamp with the matching die, although to be honest the die was really not such a good buy as the stamped images are really easy to fussy cut around. If you are thinking to buy the matching die, thing twice as your money could go to buying something else.  I coloured the cute bunny with Copics  and matted onto a pink background.

Pretty white cotton lace added and a lattice layered flower....done !

The lattice flower is so pretty, inked the edges with a touch of Spun Sugar distress ink and popped a little rose in the middle.

Thank you for taking a peep at my work, have a lovely day xxx

22nd November 2018 A Little Bit of Winter Wonderland.

Good morning from a cold U.K. And in the famous line from ' Game of Thrones'...Winter is Coming ! Time for me to do a few Winter...Christmas style cards and toppers.  Again I used an LOTV printed sheet for this one, bought a year ago and purchased as a down load so always in my files to print as and when needed.

I added lots and lots of white die cut Winter style foliage and layered pretty Poinsettia flowers for the finishing touch.

Love ' white on white ' , especially for Christmas work.

Hope you have a lovely day, hugs xx

15th November, Using LOTV Pre-Printed Images Card.

Hi, Today is a card that I have made using the purchased pre-printed LOTV sheets, these are the new ones featuring fairies.  Now I adore LOTV stamps and products and have that many it is embarrassing. I live not too far from their ' shop ' in Farsley, Leeds and would often go and purchase loads of stuff off them. They have closed their outlet shop to the public and gone more down the way of digi printing, colour or black & white , printer ink being especially difficult with Copics, so a no - no on that one for me as it would smudge whilst trying to colour the black & white. I must add that they do still sell stamps, not as many , quite limited, and more in the line of  ' x ' amount on a sheet, so good value. So, I purchased their new fairies coloured sheet and although the fairies are so pretty I did find that I needed to ooooph the colour up a bit by adding a touch of my Copics here and there. Each to their own on that one, but here is the finished card with the touch of oooomp on the fairy !

I added glitter to the wings, a bit more green to her dress, red on the toadstool and added grass rather than leave it with just a few pale flowers that were on the print.

The inside of the card was done to complement the front.

Thank you for stopping by, enjoy your day xxx

9th November, A Shabby Chic Romantic Card

Hi, good afternoon. Another busy few days. We have managed to sell our boat and have been emptying it of all our bits and bobs. We say goodbye to it tomorrow and I will be a touch sad as we have had such lovely times with it cruising the Inland Waterways. Everything has it's time and after 20 or more years it is time to move onto something new...what ?  not sure yet !

I made a really pretty card, I think it is !  using Foamiran to make the flowers, with lots of pretty die cut foliage.

I added my favourite ivory dried gypsophilia among the flowers.

A closer peep

I always like to decorate the inside of the card to compliment the front.

You can just see the pretty scalloped lace die cut inside.

Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely weekend, hugs xx

26th October, 2018. Some More of My Work

Hi, Good evening. A busy day as usual. Like most people, I have not a clue how I managed to fit everything in, there seems to be less hours in a day than there was before I retired. But one good thing, rainy morning, cold, all scurrying off to work and I am still in bed with a lovely cup of tea....doesn't get better than that !

Christmas not too far away and us crafters get going with our Winter work as soon as possible. the first project I would like to show you is a Whimsey stamp, I think she is called Silver Fairy, quite an old stamp, but never get tired of using her.

I coloured her by using Copics and of course evry fairy has to have glittery wings.

From one extreme to another, the next one fairly simple, but I do like the end result.

I used Heartfelt Creations 'Under the Sea ' sea-horse die, coloured it in turquoise and a touch of gold. |I threaded a few beads and sequins onto some grey satin ribbon to add a touch more interest.

Hope you like them, night night xx

15th October 2018. Pink Foamiran Flower Card

Hi, Home at last, all the washing done and ironed, so back to normal.  I have been doing a fair bit of crafting and would like to show you a card that I have done with a large single pink Foamiran flower.

Now I know I am not the best at making these and would love to be able to go to a tutorial on them, however, have not seen any in my area. Still, You Tube give great information, so will keep trying !

I used three separate colours of Foamiran, a deep pink for the centre, then paler pink for the larger petals.  The ribbon matched really well and was a small length found in my stash.

The pretty gem centre was from an inexpensive bracelet recently bought that I took to pieces.

Thank you for having a peep at my work, hope you are having a lovely day, hugs xxx

21st September 2018, A LOTV Card Topper

Hi, It seems like only yesterday that I returned from a short break and tonight I am off again to a more sunny climate. I will miss this terrible rain we have been having, although greatly needed, but it came down all in one go. hence terrible flooding in certain areas.

It is Christmas time for us crafters, always in front. I have done a Lili of the Valley Christmas topper using one of their pre - printed down loaded images. Always a good standby when in a hurry.

Loving the new lattice flower die, double layered and a touch of blue on the edges of the petals.

The pretty white layering is a Tattered Lace Pin Dot squares.

Thanks for stopping by...see you in a week or so...hugs xx

14th September 2018 Something a little easier.

Hi, Good morning, A quick post before I go away again for a few days break. I have done a card that is quite easy to do. As you are probably aware, because I don't work for any company, everything is from my own inspiration, I never promote products and keep things simple. This card has been done using Penny Black's , Frosty the Snowman, the stamp and die combo.

I stamped with black Memento ink and coloured Frosty with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by, always appreciated.

4th September, 2018. My Foamiran Flower.

Hello, I cannot believe that it is September already. The days are changing fast, cooler in the morning and evenings. Time to light those lovely log fires. I love all the Seasons and all that they bring.
I would like to show you a pretty card topper that I made, using a hand made Foamiran flower. There are lots of tutorials out there on YouTube, so have a go, very easy to do and they look so pretty.

I did it in cream and pink, always a good colour combination.

The pretty gem in the centre of the flower is from a bracelet that I no longer wore so took it to pieces.

Hope you like it, bye for now xx

30th August, 2018, Something Different, A Bridal Bouquet.

Hi all, I decided to do something entirely different from my hand made cards. I have made many times organza flowers for different projects, cushions and the like, but never thought of trying to make a bridal bouquet. These Shabby Chic style bouquets are becoming quite popular, so this is my first attempt and I must say I am pretty pleased with it. The thing is, shall I sell it ? or just leave it to adorn something pretty in my bedroom ?

All the flowers are hand made by myself from silk, organza, lace, crepe or wedding material.
I have done the colours in white, silver grey and a slate grey. Every flower has a diamante gem in the centre.  The holder has been covered with white lace and the underside of the bouquet has been decorated to match.  Hope you like it.  thanks for taking a peep , xxxx

20th August, 2018 A quick birthday card

Hi, Just returned from a short break which was really lovely. I had a birthday card to make for a little boy, not much time as his birthday is tomorrow. This is what I came up with.

I used a Mama Elephant stamp and combo die set.
I used Copics to colour the image.

Sorry, but since I got home my laptop has a mind of it's own....

Thank you for taking a peep xx

Hi, All of us crafters start thinking of doing Christmas things in July and August. Myself being no option, I have started mine.  I have done a pretty white on white card topper with a super sparkly poinsettia flower.

The gem in the centre is taken from a strip of diamantes .

Off on my holidays now for a well earned break, take care xxx

31st July 2018 My Grandaughter's Birthday Card.

Hi, I have decided, and if any one is interested to set up and expedition to find out where the time goes.  I started the week off with ' x'  ' y ' and 'z ' to get done.....nothing done as per usual. But never mind as everyday is beautiful. I have my lovely granddaughter's birthday card to show you, already six years old and knows everything !  It is a tri-fold card, bought from my local craftshop, Whichcraft, who do some amazing templates for cards.

I used an already printed image from The Hobby House with hand made roses.                                                              The card stock was from my stash.

Loving these oh so pretty printed images. Thank you for stopping by, xx

19th July 2018,My Second Bow Card.

Hello Good Morning,  This is my second attempt at a bow card. I did find it a bit easier to do. I used some hand made Foamiran flowers for the centre.

The edges of the cardstock were distressed with inks and dried gypsophilia was added to the flowers

Pretty die cut doilies were placed between the bows

Hope you like it, take care x

4th July 2018,Lots of Pretty Things.

Hi, It is so hot here in the UK, we are so not used to having day after day with this heat. Crafting has been a bit of a no -no at the moment. Here is some of the work that I have done, keeping it fairly simple.

I kind of let the dies do all the work, lots of foliage.

The large flower is made from Foamiran with the edged shaded pale blue with Gelatos

Hope you are all well, thank for taking a peep, xx

21st June, 2018 My First Attempt at a large bow Card.

Hi, This is my very first attempt at making a bow card. Pretty pleased at how it turned out, got a bit carried away with the lace. Started going through my lace box ( pretty big ) and was finding all bits and bobs, so was loving this to be able to use them....hence getting carried away !!  First rule in making this kind of card, be so extra careful cutting out and copying the template and to be honest I did find the making of it quite easy. Hope you like it.

Now you can see how I got carried away with the lace !

View from the side.

Thank you for taking a peep and hope this inspires you to have a go !

14th June 2018 A bit of Shabby Chic.

Hi everyone, Hope all is well with you. My fractured foot is coming along very well but getting a little bit of ' cabin fever '  Cannot walk too far, but getting better every day.

It certainly gives me the opportunity to do a bit more craft work and I have been making some pretty Foamiran flowers. Here is some of my work.

The filigree bow is an old die, I think it could be a Sue Wilson one, but it does get a lot of use.

The large circular die is a Cheery Lyn die, again had for a number of years but so very pretty.

Hope you like my flowers, thank you for taking a peep xx

Tuesday, 5 June 2018

5th June 2018 , A few more cards.

Helle, Good morning, hope all is well with you. I have been doing a few more ' less is more cards ' after receiving some beautiful papers by Alexandra Renke, plus a couple of her dies which only arrived yesterday. Like all crafters, itching to use them.

The peony die cut flower was painted using Brush paints to match the tulip.

This one is again using the Renke papers but decided to do something totally different , a bit of a collage thing going off on this one.

Thank you for taking a peep at my work, always appreciated, have  a wonderful day.

23rd May 2018 A Polka Doodles Card.

Hi, the sun has been shining today, temperature on the up and it feels so good.  My roses are all starting to bud up really well and I am just waiting for them to burst into bloom. Don't we all love roses. My favourites are the old fashioned ones, Old English roses, so not long now.

I would like to show you a Polka Doodles card that I recently made, I did the colouring whilst away on my short break , no pun intended here for my broken foot I might add.

At last getting a hang of this making bigger, wish I had learnt it sooner. Was coloured using my Copics and a touch of white Posca Pen to highlight a few areas on the teapot and hair flower.

I always like to do the inside of the card to compliment the front.

Thank you for stopping by, enjoy your evening  xxx

19th May 2018 A few ' Less is More ' style cards.

Hi, Today was the BIG day for our Prince Harry and his beautiful fiancée Megan, and what a beautiful day it has been. She looked radiant , her dress was pure class, and we did it in style like us Brits always do.

Me....?  Yes I have done something in style, broken my foot, simply fell off a kerb. so I have on a lovely black ' boot ' to keep my foot snug. Really stylish, I think not  ! Standing for any length of time is a bit uncomfortable so I have been doing cards that are slightly more simplified...' Less is More '  I have really enjoyed making them.  Here is some of my latest work......

This is a set of two Memory Box dies, Floating Butterflies, guess I can do a lot with these. This one was a straight forward die cut of each one, layered on top of each other, a misting of pink and a few gems.

Seems like I am into butterflies.  Double layered butterfly on a dotty embossed background.Added some white flat back pearls. Love the lovely white linen card that I am using at the moment.

Not a butterfly this time but a pretty bird cut from some Lemoncraft papers with an added Tim Holtz die cut wildflower spritzed with a touch of blue to pick up the blue of the bird.

Hope you enjoyed my cards and thank you so much for having a look at them. Enjoy the rest of the
                                                               weekend  xx

7th May 2018 A Silver Wedding Card.

Hi, Here I am again to show you another card that I made for a friend. I Googled how to make a blogger photo bigger, why did I not think of that before ?  !!!!  So easy when you know how !

This one is for a Silver Wedding Anniversary. So loved doing it as I was given free reign to do as I wanted.

                                                                 It's big  !!

The flowers were made from Foamiran and the beautiful backing card  is from Lemoncraft

I am so pleased with myself, why I never thought of using google before..duhhh !

Just need to learn how to set things out next...no stopping me now, take care, hugs xx

7th May 2018 A Nellie Snellen card topper

Hi everyone. I have been searching through my collection of stamps, I have so many, and so many forgotten about and I came across three very pretty Nellie Snellen stamps. So here is my latest bit of work, hope you like them.  Copics were used to colour them.

This one is a Whimsy Stamp.

They are all my favourite ones at the moment. Just love adding lots of glitter to the fairy wings.

Hope that you are all enjoying this wonderful weather we are having at the moment.  Thank you for taking a peep at my work and hope that you are all having a lovely evening.  Hugs xx
