27th May, 2015, Positively Pampered !

Good Morning to all on this very lovely day. Today I would like to show you a Lili of the Valley card that I have just finished , Positively Pampered. Which is just how I feel at the moment so is very appropriate.

All my family and friends have looked after me so well after my operation, chocolates, flowers and lots of hugs and cuddles. What more can you ask for ?  Wonderful  !

So here is the card, done in pretty shades of lilac, turquoise and a touch of pink

I have used lots of different dies for this card, Spellbinders for the large stamped frames, Joy Craft for the butterfly border and a large ornate oval border along the top which is from Marianne.

I hand decorated a stick pin with pearl and crystal beads in lilacs and turquoise to match the card.

I put just a little glitter on the wings of the butterfly border and popped a tiny rose in the middle of the largest one.  The die cut leaves are so pretty. I must have had this die for ages and use it over and over again, one of my favourites !  It is by Marianne.  There is a larger filigree leaf in the set but somehow always use this one.

I added some small butterflies along the top of the card, which were glittered by using a very sparkly glass type glitter called Twinklets Diamond Dust, not much like dust as it is very gritty, but lovely !

Here's a peep at the inside of the card.

Thank you for taking a look at my card, have a wonderful day, hugs xx

17th May 2015

Something different

Well what a busy few weeks I have had.  First a beautiful new addition to the family, a lovely grand daughter, Eliza.  She was born on the same day as I had to go to hospital for my pre-op appointment.

Anyway the operation is over and done with, carried out on 6th May and I am doing fine.  I was looked after so well I cannot give the hospital staff enough praise.

So here is my latest craft creation, or should I say my other granddaughters creation as she put a lot of effort into the making of this door hanger.  She is a very creative child and loves to get in my craft room and use all my things.

So this is what we came up with for her to take home....I really liked the finished result and must have a go at making another one.

It was a plain MDF door hanger, white Gesso, crackle paint and pink acrylic paint.

I had some pretty heavy white guipure lace, cut it up and glued it here and there.  The large flower was hand made from organza material, heated with a hot heat gun to make the edges curl and white pearl beads sewn into the centre.  Easy Peasy  !!

Other bits and bobs added , die cut leaves, paper roses etc.

This is a closer look at the organza flower, quite pretty !

Hope you like the door hanger, itching to have a go at another one, thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day  , hugs  xxx
