22nd December 2014

My Sweet Lili,  A Sarah Kay Card.

Hello everyone, so lovely for you to stop by.  Like all mums we are always so very busy st this time of the year, so hopefully you have just about done all  your shopping and down to the last minute things that need to be done.

I must be a glutton for punishment, as hubby has decided to get a new computer, and change over the rooms so the bedroom that I work in for my crafting, is now being changed into a full crafting room  !!  We spent yesterday moving furniture from one room to another, so I have boxes of crafty stuff all over the place. At least I have the Christmas holidays to sort things out.  I found a few things that had gone missing, so that was a nice surprise.

Today the card I have for you to have a peek at  is from the lovely Sarah Kay collection, My Sweet Lili. I had seen quite a few cards with this pretty little girl, but was unable to track a stamp anywhere, until one day I saw one listed in the U.S.A, not too expensive either and postage was pretty good....so had to have it, and have not been disappointed as she is adorable and I know that I will get years of happy card making from using her.

I used my Copic Pens to colour her , put just a little pearl pink embossing powder around her.  The flowers are from the Doohickey Dies with a Tattered lace daisy on the largest flower and a little Doohickey die flower on the top, which I embossed with the pale pink embossing powder.

The butterflies were an experiment , As I die cut the butterfly, I overlaid fairly thick white  lace on top and die cut together, just to see if it would work ok  I think the result is very pretty and a little different.

Here' s  a closer look at one of the lace butterflies

I used the Doohickey doily flowers as a bit of a border, just part tucking them in and overlapping the edge of the card., finishing off with a smaller flower in the center.

Here s a side view of the card, so you can take a peek at the inside, which was done to complement the front with lots of room to write your message.

The card that I used was from the Tilda collection , the lace was from  my stash.

I hope that you like this card, thank you for stopping by. I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the New year, so bye for now  xx

18th December 2014

A pretty cream and chocolate brown filigree card

Weather so dark and dingy here in the U.K. so don't feel up to going too far from home, so it gives me a chance to get some more crafting done  !!  Tea is all ready for just switching on, veg done and sitting in the saucepans waiting for some heat, so though that I would show you all my latest card.

Every now and then you feel as though you have created something that really appeals to you, it could be the style or the  colour, but you just know that  " I love this card  " !!    Feel like I want to send it to me ......

I used cream and silver grey card.  I embossed the cream card and then did two rows of the new die from Spellbinders Shapeabilities that I received only the other day.  It's called Mary Border Strip S4 -441.

I die cut the plain border underneath in the silver grey and overlaid the cream die cut on top

I added some very lovely chocolate brown satin ribbon across the middle of the card, and a matching bow.

The large flower is from my stash, and added to it are some tiny roses in a very almost non-pink,  mixed with slightly larger cream roses.
A touch of gypsophila among the die cut leaves  to add to the finishing touches
Must not forget the hand embellished stick pin among the flowers, done in pinks , cream and brown to match the jewel that sits in the center of the satin bow.

I did exactly the same to the inside of the card with the Spellbinder die, and the satin ribbon, but layered in silver grey and cream  Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles to write your message.

Just getting used to uploading photographs  a little better. As we all know if you are not used to computer technology , and some one tells you to do this or that......Dhhh !  Sorry have not got a clue what they are talking about.....or is it just me  ?  Hope not !

Anyway managed to do it all by myself so feeling quite smug, one photograph disappeared into thin air, can't find it anywhere, but don't tell anyone  !

Until my next card,  thank you for taking a peek ,take care, see you soon xxx

15 th Decmber 2014 , A Pretty Wedding card

Hi everyone,

I thought that I would show you a pretty step card that I made recently  using one of the new LOTV stamps, which I purchased a few weeks ago and have been itching to use it.  I just love all of their stamps and would buy all of them if I could. As mentioned before, I live not too far away from their shop, as it's my birthday coming up in the New Year  it could be a great excuse to go there and get hubby to make a few birthday purchases   !!

I used a very pretty lattice bow die from the Sue Wilson Spellbinders range, and doubled it.
The pretty heart edges of the step card are Magnolia Doohickey, I think it's called Romantic lace, not too sure on that one as I have had it such a long time and the packaging has long gone.

Here's a peek at the sideways view of the step card, sorry about the lighting but these winter rainy days have been quite dark just of late.

Here' s a  closer if not a bit darker , of the pretty lattice bow.

I added a rolled rose and popped a bead in the center, a few more flowers and some white die cut leaves

I hope that you like this pretty car, thank you so much for taking a peek, take care and enjoy  the day keep warm and dry  !!  bye for now.

12th December 2014

A  filigree card with a decorated stick pin.

Hi everyone,

It's countdown to Christmas  !!  All the children in our family are getting very excited , letters have gone off to Santa, including  mine !!   There are lots and lots of things on my list, nothing too expensive , lots of little crafting bits and bobs.  Perhaps in the New Year a new computer would be quite handy so that I would be able to have use of the correct soft wear as my computer is getting quite old.  Hubby says. there's nothing wrong, it works  !  So......if wording not aligned up quite right, oh how I have tried !!  it's the soft wear which I am going to blame.

Anyway, here is a photo of one of my latest cards, just loving the filigree dies from Spellbinders, Sue Wilson range.  Really easy to do, cream card stock, layering the dies with one layer a different colour and you are ready to go with your pretties !!

I used grey satin ribbon with a diamonte in the middle, rolled roses that I added a touch of peach colour  and die cut embossed rose leaves.  There is a touch of dried ivory gypsophilia among the roses and a hand decorated stick pin.

I really enjoyed making this card, so here is a peep at the inside of the card using the same die from Spellbinders

I added a little silver crown to the card that I made from air dried clay, glittered it with silver and a few jewels

.
Thank you so much for stopping by, have a lovely weekend, bye for now.
